This versatile ladder can be used as a triple section extension ladder, as well as a self-supporting step ladder (in the shape of an inverted Russian letter ‘У’). Moreover, the third section is removable, and it can be used separately as a straight ladder, while the remaining part can be used as a double multipurpose ladder. This ladder is by right the most multipurpose of all, and despite the necessary pairwise overlap of sections both in the ‘extension ladder’ and the ‘step ladder’ configurations, which complicates the design, makes the ladder heavier and therefore increases its cost, it is the most popular option due to its exceptional versatility. PS Particular care should be taken with models 9316, 9318, and 9320. Thus, in the working position ‘ʎ’, ‘inverted Russian У’ or ‘step ladder’, when a worker extends the third section to fix it at a certain height, he may be ‘outweighed’ by the already extended part of the third section. The worker must be prepared for this and additionally insured against falling in accordance with section ‘4. Some general safety measures’. It is often not possible to extend all three sections to make an extension ladder, while holding the ladder at an angle of 65-75 degrees to the object (for example, when it is necessary to lean the ladder against a roof edge). In such cases, the ladder of a required length is assembled on the ground and setup into working position with the help of additional means (a winch, ropes, etc.). It is not a quick procedure, but necessary to ensure safety of primary and secondary workers.
